If you were at our First Annual Lake Menomin WaterX in June of 2017 we hope you found it a blast and let everyone you know that they need to get the next one. We had great fun organizing it and having the weekend go well. We have already started to make some site improvements. You may have noticed last year that we had to take any sleds, that didn’t make it back to shore dry, over to the closest boat landing. This was not the end of the world and it worked out okay for the entire weekend. It did slow down some of the retrieval time but the retriever drivers and the racers made it work all weekend without too much hassle.
With the approval of the City of Menomonie and the Parks Department we have been able to make a site adjustment that will hopefully help us make that portion of the weekend run quicker and even smoother for the racers. We have been approved to and cut a landing into the lake bank. This landing will be up the shoreline into the race pit area. We hope that this will allow the pontoons to reach the shoreline with the snowmobiles right at our race site. More clean-up of the lake bank be taken on in the next few weeks.
Over all with all the clean-up we hope that this will also help Menomonie residents better use that lake bank for more and better fishing as there are many now that push through the weeds and brush along the bank to get to the shoreline and cast a line.
